For Erik Lorincz’s new bar in London, Kwãnt Mayfair, the vision was clear: to create a space where the boundary between bartender and guest dissolves. A bar that feels more like a stage, and a service that feels more like a performance. This monolithic bar station lies at the heart of that concept.
Designed as a highly interactive chef’s table, the station invites guests to sit not just in front, but between the bartenders, placing them at the centre of the experience. Every detail was designed to foster connection, conversation, and immersion in the world of Kwãnt.
Three custom Paloma-style stations are integrated into the stainless-steel structure, positioned on three sides of the bar. The fourth side opens to guests. Each station is compact yet complete, with built-in cooling, ice wells, garnish drawers, and bottle storage, designed to Erik’s exact specifications to support fluid, theatrical service without compromise on functionality.
Behind Bars delivered the custom stainless-steel bar structure and integrated cooling system. The wooden elements seen in the final build were developed and installed by other collaborators.
At Behind Bars, we’re fortunate to collaborate with teams across the hospitality landscape. Working with people like Erik pushes us to think differently and explore new possibilities. These experiences help shape our work and allow us to share fresh ideas with a wider community.
